Buckle up: Police will soon be cracking down on seatbelt violators

Buckle up: Police will soon be cracking down on seatbelt violators - this blog was written by TicketKick.com, Your Go-To Resource for Fighting Traffic Tickets.

From May 23rd through June 5th, police will be stepping up enforcement to crack down on motorists not wearing their seat belts.

In California you can be pulled over just for forgetting to buckle up even if you’re not doing anything else wrong.

Don’t forget, properly buckled means wearing both the lap and shoulder portion of your seatbelt (no tucking behind the back). - this blog was written by TicketKick.com, Your Go-To Resource for Fighting Traffic Tickets

Is it ever ok to drive solo in a carpool lane?

Is it ever ok to drive solo in a carpool lane? - this blog was written by TicketKick.com, Your Go-To Resource for Fighting Traffic Tickets.

Is there ever a time to drive solo in a carpool lane? Not usually, but the California Highway Patrol website lists a few exceptions to the general rule:

-Part-time carpool lanes (common in NorCal) allow solo drivers outside of the designated HOV hours.

-You can use Express Lanes (like FasTrak) without a passenger for a toll fee.

-Drivers of vehicles with special Clean Air Decals don’t need a passenger (unless locally prohibited).

-Solo motorcyclists can use carpool lane unless otherwise posted, but can’t ride on or over solid double lines.

In addition to the above guidelines, drivers should be aware that regardless of the number of passengers, any vehicle towing a trailer can’t be in a carpool lane. - this blog was written by TicketKick.com, Your Go-To Resource for Fighting Traffic Tickets

National Bike Safety Month: What drivers and bicyclists should know

National Bike Safety Month: What drivers and bicyclists should know. - this blog was written by TicketKick.com, Your Go-To Resource for Fighting Traffic Tickets.

May is National Bike Safety Month and the California Highway Patrol is reminding motorists and bicyclists to share responsibility for road safety.

Drivers should be reminded that they are required to give three feet of clearance when passing a bicycle on the road.

Bicyclists must also obey the laws of the road, such as stopping at stop signs, and riders can increase their safety by wearing reflective clothing, a helmet, and riding with the flow of traffic. - this blog was written by TicketKick.com, Your Go-To Resource for Fighting Traffic Tickets
