Traffic Ticket Avoidance: Know When Passing is and isn’t Allowed - this blog was written by TicketKick.com, Your Go-To Resource for Beating Traffic Tickets.

Is there ever a right time to pass?

Passing:

  • a long, straight stretch of roadway
  • behind a another vehicle traveling below the speed limit (if you have to go even 1 mile per hour over the speed limit to pass you are technically breaking the law)

No Passing:

  • as you approach the top of a hill
  • on a narrow bridge

Remember, a ticket for “unsafe passing” is about $300 and the DMV considers this to be a “point violation”, too many of which can lead to a driver’s license suspension. - this blog was written by TicketKick.com, Your Go-To Resource for Beating Traffic Tickets

Highway Hypnosis Tips to Avoid Driving Like a Zombie

Highway Hypnosis Tips to Avoid Driving Like a Zombie  - this blog was written by TicketKick.com, Your Go-To Resource for Beating Traffic Tickets.

It’s a dangerous trance like state.

“If you've ever read an article on your computer screen and stopped to realize you have no idea what you just read, you've experienced something similar to highway hypnosis…

  • the driver usually can't recognize highway hypnosis until his environment is somehow jostled -- another car cuts him off or he hits a bump;
  • often happens on long, mundane highway drives with few turns or traffic signal;
  • Listening to the radio isn't enough to prevent this daze, and can even contribute to it” (Sydney Lupkin, abc news)

Don’t get too comfy.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration suggests physical discomfort can help avoid drowsiness:

  • no slouching (raise your seat)
  • get your teeth chattering (crank up your ac)
  • make you sweat (blast your heater)

Seatbelt Safety: Importance of Getting a Car Seat that Fits your Child and Also Your Car

Seatbelt Safety: Importance of Getting a Car Seat that Fits your Child and Also Your Car - this blog was written by TicketKick.com, Your Go-To Resource for Beating Traffic Tickets.

Its California law to buckle those little ones up for safety, but some car seats simply do not match up with some cars. A ticket for failing to have the proper child restraint system can be almost $500 (and add a point to your record)! When buying a car seat, it’s not only important to get a seat that fits your child, but also a seat that fits your car. Supreme Court Ruling Make it too Easy for Police to Make Traffic Stops based on Anonymous Tips

Does Recent Supreme Court Ruling Make it too Easy for Police to Make Traffic Stops based on Anonymous Tips - this blog was written by TicketKick.com, Your Go-To Resource for Beating Traffic Tickets.

TicketKick is reminding motorists to drive carefully out there and avoid erratic movements! Especially in light of a recent Supreme Court ruling (Prado v. California) involving an anonymous caller who tipped of CHP about a possible drunk driver. The traffic stop made by California Highway Patrol officers (who had followed the truck for five miles without observing drunken or erratic driving) was decided to be reasonable and allowable based on the circumstances. The judges, disapproving of this decision warn law enforcement agencies follow closely Supreme Court judgments, and they will identify at once this new rule: So long as the anonymous caller identifies where the car is, anonymous claims of a single instance of possibly careless or reckless driving, called in to 911, will support a traffic stop.- this blog was written by TicketKick.com, Your Go-To Resource for Beating Traffic Tickets
