Exemptions which went into effect January of this year, loosen the current hands free laws to allow for voice-operated or hands-free texting and for activating or deactivating a feature on a wireless communications device. But these exemptions may be removed if new Bill is successful. Assembly Bill 313 introduced February of this year seeks to remove those exemptions for being too dangerous.
